EFFECTS
Periodontal (Gum) disease are serious infections that if left

overall health. There are many forms of periodontal disease, however,
the most commons are as follow:
Gingivitis, Aggressive periodontitis, Chronic Periodontitis,
Necturizing periodontitis disease and finally periodontitis as a
manifestation of a systemic disease.
Scientific research shows a link between periodontal (Gum) and other
health conditions:
• Infective Endocarditis (a potentially fatal heart disease)
• Diabetes
• Lung Infections (In people with chronic lung disease)
• A weakened Immune System (Slows wound healing)
• Premature Birth , Low-birth weight
Heart disease and Pneumonia are twice as likely to happen to
patients with periodontal disease. Regular dental care helps prevent
these diseases according to reports by the Surgeon General& Reuters
Health.
95% of Americans who suffer from Diabetes also suffer from
periodontal disease; according to Surgeon Generals’ Report.
"Poor oral health is linked to deadly Pancreatic Cancer", according
to an article by Tara Parker Pope in Wall Street Journal on January
